Special Educational Needs

We are an inclusive school and work hard to meet the learning needs of all our pupils through our high quality teaching and learning, providing scaffolded support and a personalised approach. We recognise that there are times when children will find school difficult, for a variety of reasons, if you are concerned about your child we are here to help.

What if I think my child has SEND?

In the first instance speak to you child's class teacher. Further support can also be sought by following the links below or contacting our SENCO, Mrs Patterson, through the school office.

There are a variety of links below that explain our school policies and procedures; how your child and your family can be supported by Essex County Council through their local offer and a number of other useful links.

If you have any questions or cannot find the information you need please contact Mrs Patterson (working days Monday-Thursday but messages can be left any time via the school office)

Click here for Provide Children & Family Services

Provide’s Children and Family Services aim to deliver evidence-based, holistic care to all of the children and their families that they work with to achieve the best possible outcome. They support children and families dealing with a number of concerns including hearing; behaviour; learning difficulties; eating and drinking and communication. The above link takes you directly to the page regarding communication and Communication Stations.

Children aged 2 – end of reception year with a mid-Essex GP can be brought to a  Communication Station without needing to complete a referral. Communication Stations are 15 minute appointments that involve meeting a Speech and Language Therapist to assess or review your child’s speech, language and communication through listening to your current concerns, observation and play. We will then offer advice and ensure that your child is put on the correct care pathway.
